Yes, please delete GeorgePap and all his sock puppets! I counted at least YankeesFan, Socrates, ArmandoEs, Italiano27, CalifornianDirector, Jake87, Alejandro1111 and Compterr.

It would probably be worth auto-filtering on the string "READ the DESCRIPTION IN ORDER to INSTALL it CORRECTLY" and anything that contains an http://is.gd/ URL.

Good luck getting rid of GeorgePap. These ShareCash spammers are real persistent scum. It took a full-scale DDoS attack to make them stop spamming 4chan last year.

Since you are actually here you might want to correct your review on this script if it's still set to 5 stars.

Are these multiple spammers bots or real people?

@Marti:
This is actually a shared account from bugmenot.com, so I didn't write that, but whatever. 1 star it is then.

Well I just didn't want people getting the wrong impression. Might be time to change the password and usually it's not a good idea to have a shared account.

Probably a mixture of both.

I identified a few bad scripts with uso - Count Issues... a script that I've been twiddling currently with since I'm really quite tired of finding things manually. Has been a fun experience and even learned a few things in the process. :)

Would it be worth setting up an [invisible "honeypot" form](http://www.google.com.au/search?q=invisible+honeypot+form)? That way the auto-spam-bots use that form that does essentially nothing and doesn't create new posts/threads.

I wonder if USO could set up a regex check similar to the way AMO checks your extension when you upload it. Y'know how it checks for things like "eval", "process.init(file);" etc. in the source code?

This would capture some of them but the one above is pretty advanced and the most agreeable method would be to have reporters report it and admins check it out and remove accounts when necessary in a timely manner hopefully. Count Issues is just a recommendation on what I think might possibly be suspect in a script... doesn't necessarily mean anything is actually incorrect. I purposely have tried my best to keep it as vague as possible to let the user decide what they want to search for. Screen shots give a little more detailed search methods although it's not completely what I'm using here locally as I'm still finding out exactly what some are doing behind the veil of View source ;)

Captchas irritate me as they are definitely getting harder to read... I find myself clicking the refresh a lot just because I can't make out what it's presenting. Timeouts also somewhat suck as that is related to Rate and Limiting. With Rate and Limiting in place that has made some scripting actions on USO quite slow or near impossible imo but I know it's a necessary evil. It also opens up the door for a few positive things too... so a catch 22.

Again there's are probably too many possibilities to capture... some people don't care about security and those are the ones that IT/IS makes the most money off of ;) but for the few that do... offering some options for them to search for what they think is a threat and offering the Issues tab that USO has already done is a nice step forward.

I'd hate to have to see USO moderated too :\ The spammers have actually never left... they've just hidden themselves in other areas such as the blog.

I think the honey-pot technique would be a good idea. It's simple to implement and would get rid of many bots. You'd just add a pointless type=text field to all forms that would be hidden by CSS so users wouldn't fill it out, but spam bots would and their posts would fail.

This site should really add the [rel="nofollow"](http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html) attribute to all links posted in the forums. That would take away some of the incentive for posting spam here.

He starts posts asking for help, but then goes back and adds spam. He's probably not a bot but he's definitely a sneaky spammer.

Instead of thinking about automatic filtering of scam scripts.. can someone please manually delete the "download real script here" things? They are annoying and more importantly result in monetary loss for unaware users.

Yes, please ban GeorgePap forever from userscript. He's the one who made this web down. He made the first page full with his scripts that I can't see which real scripts has been updated.
Ban him now!!

The only thing that seems to work anymore is these spam reports. If I say "Please ban GeorgePap", it doesn't work, but usually, the "is a spammer, most recently on topic" form does the trick.

Ah sorry about that guys, been super busy and I am just subscribed to this thread. So if things pop up here I'm able to take care if it relatively quickly.
