Thanks Jefferson, you're a life saver.

I was able to fix this on Firefox by:
1) Logging out
2) Deleting the userscript.org cookie
3) Install the script -> Now works
4) Log back in
5) Install script still works

Using a private window in Firefox worked for me as well, to an extent. I was able to get to the userscript by clicking Install on the script's page, but once the popup window came up and counted down, the Install button was still shaded out and the progress meter just said "Downloading." Anyone else have this problem, or know how to get around it and install the script?

Both using a private window and deleting the cookie worked for me.

Could this be a bizarre cookie problem?
Might be a bottle neck in the cloud coupling somewhere too. The 503 html that is being returned on occasion seems to be the issue here. With "Save link as" twice while logged in... first time got the 503 html and second I got the source for a script.

Private/incognito worked for me, too!! I had to copy it from where it downloaded in incognito, then open 'new' in the script dashbboard and paste it in, but it worked like a charm. Not a bad workaround at all. Thanks Jefferson!!

Thanks t1na, I was able to add the script manually after reading your post. I forgot I had to have the little Greasemonkey icon on my toolbar to access the "new script" command.

My recipe:
1. Take care to write down on paper your USO login and password ;)
2. In firefox history: right-click on any USO entry -> Forget about this site
3. Just in case: Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> [Cached Web Content] Clear Now.

And make sure that cookies (and JS) are enabled on userscripts.org.

people who don't have a login on this site are unable to install my GM scripts using the "Install" button.

this needs a real fix (i.e. not just hacks and workarounds), or this site is basically useless.

I believe that is a problem of userscripts.org site programmer:
maybe something like Cache-control: no-cache in 'Guru Meditation' page header will fix the situation?

who is the system administrator in charge of the userscripts.org server?

how can he/she be contacted?

PS: i don't think the issue has to do with no-cache and i don't think a Cache-control: header would resolve the current problem.

Well, now we have two problems :
1: Unstable work of US.O server
2: Once appearing, the Error 503 page has a trend to stay forever,
regardless of the server health.

so apparently there is no system administrator in charge of the userscripts.org server?

is this site on autopilot?

for the last couple of days, userscripts.otg is unreachable. Only http://userscripts-mirror.org/ works.

who is the sysadm in charge of this site's server?

how can he/she be contacted?

are they aware of those issues?

anotherjesse is not actively maintaining the userscripts.org server.

so i guess, if no-one else is maintaining it, this website will die slowly.

as we have seen recently, it is not reachable anymore, or service is not stable. e.g. currently userscripts.org is only reachable on port 8080.
