Been trying to install a script for several days and still failing. I am getting a 503 error on a number of scripts when I press the install button. Currently I am copying the code to avoid the error.

PS. Thanks for fixing counter.

The issue is still present. Any idea to fix this?

that really sucks!

and the spam in this forum, as well.

Experienced the same. It breaks automatic updates. It’s good that we can still copy it by hand…

Works in Chrome, but not in Firefox. Strange...

i heard that userscripts.org is not actively maintained and falling apart, and a lot of people are migrating to https://greasyfork.org/

Things are changing behind the scenes, some things are happening, but no one is really announcing anything.

It's great that people are working on new sites, but it will take some time before they attract an audience. Until then, we'll have to keep flagging spam here...

Jefferson Scher, the problem is not about flagging spam.

the problem is about being able to download scripts.

right now, you seem to always get a “Guru Meditation” error, i.e. the site is not usable.

the “monkeys and unicorns” need to wake up!

Hi loupiote, I was commenting on your last post about "not actively maintained." I didn't say this problem was solved.

I have no idea what's going on with installing scripts. And if they can't be installed, why are the script install counts now incrementing? There's a riddle.

loupiote Scriptwright

i believe that the count is incremented when the "Install" button is clicked, regardless whether or not the site database and webserver is actually able to serve the script. that's what i observed with a bew script that no-one has been able to install from this site (as far as i know), but the count still incremented.

when i said "not actively maintained", i was not referring to spam, i was referring to the fact that the site's main feature (installing the GM scripts featured on the site) is non functional.

By the way, if I copy the URL from the address bar for a script that won't install, then launch a private window (Firefox/Windows: Ctrl+Shift+p) and open the page there, then I can install the script. It displays a different UI: the source of the script displays in the page with an infobar to install it.

Worked on two different scripts.

Could this be a bizarre cookie problem? (Can't clear cookies without posting this first...)

No it's doesn't seems too be a cookie issue. I think someone has fixed it by now.

This script works fine for me ATM:

What about you?

My results are:

If I send the session cookie (_uso_session) I get the 503 error. Even after I logged out.

If I delete that cookie or use a private window (where I never logged in) then I get the script.

Not sure what it all means.

who is the sysadm in charge of this site's server?

how can he/she be contacted?

or are the on a beach in some tropical country and unreachable???

Thanks Jefferson it seems too work either by browsing private or deleting all cookies for this site just before clicking the install button.
It's pretty annoying but at least it seems too work for now.

Thank you very much :-)

So annoying that I can't even install any scripts!

Thanks for the private window hint, Jefferson. I've been trying to install a few scripts for a while now, and this made it possible.
